This spicy pineapple margarita blends pineapple, fresh lime, and jalapeño into a bright, punchy drink. You can make it as a classic cocktail with tequila and orange liqueur, or as a zero-proof version. The zero-proof build is the better fit when using Jungle Luna drops in the future.
A spicy pineapple margarita always feels a little more fun than expected.
Pineapple brings sweetness and body. Lime keeps the drink sharp. Jalapeño adds just enough heat to wake everything up. The result is bold, fresh, and easy to come back to.
This is the kind of drink that fits the Jungle Luna world well. It feels playful, flavor-forward, and made for the kinds of pours that make staying in feel like enough.
If bold, bright, and a little spicy is your lane, stay close. We are still pre-launch, but this is exactly the flavor direction we love exploring as we build.
Why this spicy pineapple margarita works
A good pineapple margarita needs contrast.
Pineapple brings roundness. Lime cuts through it. Jalapeño changes the pace. In the classic version, tequila gives the drink more backbone. In the zero-proof version, the structure comes from citrus, spice, and balance.
The heat should not take over. It should sit just behind the fruit and acid. That is what keeps the drink lively instead of heavy.
The chili rim helps too. It adds salt, spice, and a little extra edge. That mix is what makes this spicy pineapple margarita recipe feel layered without becoming complicated.
Choose your version
Classic spicy pineapple margarita
Made with tequila blanco and orange liqueur for a more traditional margarita feel.
Zero-proof spicy pineapple margarita
Made with a zero-proof tequila alternative or a simple pineapple-orange base. This is the better option when using Jungle Luna drops.
Ingredients
For the classic version
- 1/4 cup tequila blanco (2 oz)
- 1 tbsp orange liqueur (1/2 oz)
- 3 tbsp pineapple juice (1 1/2 oz)
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice (1 oz)
- 1 1/2 tsp to 1 tbsp agave, to taste (1/4 to 1/2 oz)
- 2 to 3 jalapeño slices
- Ice
For the zero-proof version
A tequila alternative keeps that margarita-style feel, while a zero-proof orange aperitif adds the citrus note. We like Ritual Zero Proof Agave Spirit Alternative, paired with Lyre’s Orange Sec.
- 1/4 cup tequila alternative (2 oz), or 2 tbsp extra pineapple juice plus 2 tbsp sparkling water
- 1 tbsp zero-proof orange aperitif (1/2 oz), or orange juice
- 3 tbsp pineapple juice (1 1/2 oz)
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice (1 oz)
- 1 1/2 tsp to 1 tbsp agave, to taste (1/4 to 1/2 oz)
- 2 to 3 jalapeño slices
- Ice
Batch for 4, classic version

Batch for 4, zero-proof version
- 1 cup tequila alternative (8 oz), or 1/4 cup extra pineapple juice plus 1/4 cup sparkling water
- 1/4 cup zero-proof orange aperitif (2 oz), or orange juice
- 3/4 cup pineapple juice (6 oz)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (4 oz)
- 2 tbsp to 1/4 cup agave, to taste (1 to 2 oz)
- 8 to 12 jalapeño slices
- Ice
For the rim
- 1 tbsp Tajín or chili salt
- 1 lime wedge
Garnish
- 1 pineapple wedge
- 1 jalapeño slice
How to make a spicy pineapple margarita
Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Dip it into Tajín or chili salt.
Add the jalapeño slices to a shaker and press them gently once or twice. You want to wake them up, not break them down too much.
Fill the shaker with ice. For the classic version, add tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave. For the zero-proof version, add the tequila alternative or pineapple-sparkling water base, pineapple juice, lime juice, orange, and agave.
Shake until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with pineapple or jalapeño.
For the batch version, stir everything except ice in a pitcher. Chill before serving. Pour over fresh ice and garnish each glass just before serving.
Jungle Luna note
When available, Jungle Luna is best paired with the zero-proof version of this drink. Start with about 5 mg per serving, then adjust based on the formula and moment.
Flavor notes
This drink starts bright and juicy, then finishes with a little heat.
Pineapple comes through first. It softens the drink without making it feel sugary. Lime keeps everything lifted. Jalapeño brings a clean, green warmth that shows up more on the finish.
The rim is what ties it together. That salty-spicy edge gives each sip more definition.
Easy ways to adjust
- Add another jalapeño slice for more heat
- Use less agave for a sharper finish
- Add more pineapple juice for a rounder drink
- Top the zero-proof version with sparkling water for a lighter serve
- Swap Tajín for plain chili salt for a cleaner rim
- Grill the pineapple garnish for a deeper finish
Best Jungle Luna pairing
Solar Citrus Hibiscus is the more expressive pairing. It leans into the bright, citrus side of the drink.
Nebula Pure is the cleaner option. It lets the pineapple, lime, and jalapeño stay fully in the lead.
